  • The following resources offer an understanding Cyber Ethics and Internet Safety. These links include a variety of websites for Parents regarding safe and responsible use of the Internet. 

     


    Center for Safe and Responsible Internet Use
    The Center for Safe and Responsible Internet Use provides research and outreach services to address issues of the safe and responsible use of the Internet.


    CommonSense Media

    Common Sense Media is dedicated to improving the media and entertainment lives of kids and families.


    Cybersafety
    K12HSN is a state program funded by the California Department of Education.


    iKeepSafe
    The Internet Keep Safe Coalition is a broad partnership of governors and/or first spouses, attorneys general, public health and educational professionals,law enforcement, and industry leaders working together for the health and safety of youth online.


    Kids.gov
    Is part of the official portal from the US government which has important sections on cybersafety. It includes information and activities/games for the grade 6-8 students.

     

    Media Smarts

    Is a Canadian non-profit that focuses on media literacy programs. The organization promotes critical thinking via education resources and analyzes the content of various types of mass media. Surveys and studies performed by MediaSmarts have explored youth media consumption, such as television and internet use, as well as media issues.

    Online dictionary of hundreds of regularly used email chat acronyms.


    NetSmartzKids
    Online resource with interactive activities and games teaching children, teens,parents & educators safety on the Internet.


    NetSmartz.org
    Educational resource from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Discusses various Internet safety topics.

    NetSmartz411 is parents' and guardians' online resource for answering questions about Internet safety, computers, and the Web.
