Our Vision
What's Happening
Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, Inc. announces the issuance of Series A of MPCSD's General Obligation Bonds, 2024 election. Pricing is anticipated the week of March 17, 2025 for these tax-advantaged bonds: interest is free from federal and CA state income taxes. These bonds have been rated Aaa by Moody's. For more information and contact information for a preliminary official statement see the announcement flyer here.
Families and students in the MPCSD community, from Encinal, Laurel, Oak Knoll, and Hillview have initiated efforts to raise money for LA fire relief. From the weekend snack shack at Burgess league basketball games to flower sales to bingo night proceeds, students and parent leaders are coming up with creative ways to raise funds which are then being donated to SupplyBank.org's disaster relief fund, a partnership with California Department of Education to support children and families. The MPCSD community has donated over $3,000 so far, plus handwritten notes of thanks to first responders which were personally delivered by district parents to LA Fire Station 39. Thank you, generous MPCSD friends and neighbors!
Students in the district’s on-site afterschool care program, Newton Center, Inc. develop critical STEM skills, gain a deeper understanding of nutrition, and learn about sustainable practices with ForkFarm's vertical gardening. MPCSD is excited to have this opportunity to maximize student engagement using traditional hydroponic systems, engaging and inspiring them to explore the fascinating world of plant science. The state's ELOP (expanded learning opportunity program) funds made this possible.
The 2024 Annual Report to the Community features financial and staffing information as well as the district's facilities needs, bond information, and our new vision, mission, and core values. Read it here.
MPCSD has facilities needs across all campuses. We invite the community to learn more and stay informed about how MPCSD will invest in secure campuses, seismic safety, efficient infrastructure, and modern technology over the next several years.
