Summer School

  • In an effort to address the impacts of the pandemic on student learning, Governor Gavin Newson has provided districts across the state a grant called the Extended Learning and Intervention grant. This grant will allow us to provide a more robust summer program that will help address any unfinished learning from fifteen months of distance and hybrid learning. As a learner-centered district that values engagement and meaningful work, we will be introducing Project-Based Learning to our summer program this year. This project-based approach will ensure meaningful integration of content areas, such as reading, writing, technology, and an emphasis on science. The PBL units will be designed around the most important grade-level standards that will support success in the subsequent grades. We will provide 4 weeks of project-based experiential learning and strategic intervention to support the skill development for all students, prioritizing our most vulnerable learners. Along with a project-based approach to summer learning, our programs will provide a learning experience that addresses social and emotional needs. Ultimately, our teachers will create a positive experience to support engagement, connections to school, and a love of learning.

For students who are required to attend Summer School will receiveve an invitation. Selections will be made based on teacher recommendation, trimester 2 data, including F&P/SRI Scores, On-Demand Writing scores, Math Benchmark Scores, Grades, and IEP's requiring Summer School.
