NICK LERA - HUMANITIES CORE TEACHER

  • Nick Lera

    Let's go Hillview!!!

As I begin my first year at Hillview, I could not be more excited to work with the wonderful students and staff I have meet thus far.

And, without further ado, here's a little about me!

A Redwood City native, I attended Roy Cloud School, where I tried at all cost to avoid my mother, the school librarian. After graduating from Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo, I went on to study English literature at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. San Francisco State University was the next stop on my educational journey. At SFSU I earned a Single Subject Teaching Credential: English. Subsequently, I completed an additional credential in Social Sciences.

I am currently working on a Master's in Arts, English Literature degree.

In the last two years, I have taught 6th grade general education at American Indian Public Charter School in Oakland and various subjects at the middle school level at Stratford School in Fremont.

I am deeply interested in grammar (I know...), language, and history. I recently celebrated the birth of my first child, Tobias (Toby) Paul Lera on July 22nd of this year.

I am thrilled to be at Hillview and can't wait to meet all the wonderful members of our community.

    Best,
    Mr. Lera
