How do I find my child's classroom?
Class lists for kindergarten will be posted a few days before school starts on a bulletin board in the kindergarten playground.
Please look for an announcement of exact day of posting in early August of PTO Electronic Newsletters.
Teachers will be busy setting up their classrooms, so please do not visit the classroom early. Instead, join your fellow kindergartners and all other Encinal students for the Kindergarten Meet & Greet the day prior to school starting!
The Kindergarten Meet & Greet Wednesday August 22nd from 2:30-3 pm- will give your child an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and explore the classroom and playground.
Additionally, the PTO will be scheduling “Kinder Play Dates” for the summer so that children and families can familiarize themselves with some classmates and the school.
The First Day of School is Thursday August 23rd and K-2 students all start at 8 am
How can I help out at school?
Mark your calendar for the Back to School Coffee and Back to School Night! Both present a variety of ways to get involved at Encinal School.
Back to School Coffee THURSDAY AUGUST 23RD
Will occur on the first morning of school from 8:15 am until 9:30 am in the large multipurpose room on the campus. Come meet other Encinal parents and check out the various PTO committees you can join. Committees will have information tables to help answer your questions about what they do.
Back to School Night DATE TO BE DETERMINED Is a very important evening for parents. It will occur the first few weeks of school. You will learn more about your child’s teacher, the kindergarten curriculum, field trips, and classroom volunteer opportunities. Additionally, you will learn about the two organizations that work together to support our students; The Encinal PTO and the Menlo Park- Atherton Education Foundation (MPAEF).
How do I get important information throughout the year?
Classroom information is communicated by the teacher through the green Encinal folder that each student receives at the start of the school year. Teachers also communicate through email.
During the month of August, Encinal will be sending out important information via email. To receive this, be sure you are signed up for the Encinal newsletter. You can sign up by logging on to the website: Encinal Parent Newsletter and going to the newsletter sign up at the bottom of the homepage, or text the word “subscribe” to 42828.
In the meantime, explore www.encinalschool.com and mpcsd.org for more helpful information.
