• Hello, and thanks for clicking on my name! This is my first year at Hillview, and I am very excited about getting to know the community. This year I’m teaching 7th grade Language Arts, which is truly my favorite teaching assignment. This is my 17th year teaching middle school, and my 14th teaching 7th grade. I started my career at Pajaro Middle School in Watsonville, and after that I taught at Joaquin Miller Middle School in Cupertino for 11 years. I’m very happy to begin this new chapter at Hillview.

To prepare for teaching, I received my bachelor's degree in Literature from UC Santa Cruz in 1999.  Two years later, I received my master's degree in Education (also from UCSC).  I consider myself to be a life-long learner, so I am always looking for interesting new classes to attend. I find that I learn new things each year from my students, too.

In my spare time I like to travel, read, play video games, hike, and spend time with my family. I have a son who graduated from college with a degree in Journalism last year. He now works for Facebook. We’re pretty much best friends and love to do all kinds of fun things together.

I absolutely love my career, and I look forward to coming to work! I’m looking forward to a fantastic year at Hillview. Please come by and say hello in Room C-11.
