PTO President Welcome Letter 2022-2023
Oak Knoll Families,
Can you smell the scent of freshly sharpened pencils in the air? I can! My name is Becky Bullard and, on behalf of the Oak Knoll PTO, I am delighted to welcome you to this new school year. Oak Knoll is so very special, thanks to the partnership between the incredible teachers and staff and engaged families like yours. Your PTO is focused on nurturing a strong and inclusive community. As teachers open their classroom doors for our kids on the first day of school, I encourage every family to get involved. After all…together is our favorite place to be!
Here are THREE ways that you can get involved:
Join Us at Our Campus Events
August 15, 3pm Class assignments will be posted outside the office. They will also be sent to you via email.
August 17 Kindergarten and New Family Welcome on campus
August 18, 8:10am First day of school – Join us outside of the big gym at the Welcome Back Parent Coffee to hear Principal Alicia Payton-Miyazaki speak about the upcoming year, learn about our PTO committees and events, sign up for volunteer activities, and chat with friends old and new.
August 25, 7:50am Community Connection Coffee – Stop by after morning drop-off for fresh coffee (every Thursday through October) and a time to connect with Principal Payton-Miyazaki, Assistant Principal Clancy, and other Oak Knoll parents.
September 1 Back to School Night – Meet your child’s teacher on campus and learn about their plans for your child in the classroom.
Volunteer at Oak Knoll
My first volunteer role at Oak Knoll was as a Kindergarten Room Parent many moons ago. This was a wonderful opportunity to support my son’s teacher and connect with other parents. We are still in need of room parents this year, so please click here if you are interested. There are many other rewarding PTO volunteer opportunities, both big and small, listed here.
Donate to the One Community Campaign
Your donations enable Oak Knoll to be the amazing school and community that it is. Your support for the One Community Campaign (OCC) is critical as we invest in the long-term academic, physical, and emotional needs of our children. The OCC funds support specialist teachers like art, music, library and PE as well as the PTO’s ability to deliver curriculum enrichment, student events, and family events. Make your donation today here. We ask all families to contribute an amount that feels meaningful, with a suggested donation of $2,000 per student.
