This Hillview program supports students and families within a demographic that is underrepresented in the college system. Led by Hillview counselors and supported by teachers and staff - and coordinating with MPCSD Family Engagement Coordinator Flor Espinal - this program provides background, support, and resources to encourage students to pursue an education directed toward higher education degrees.

Under the guidance of school administrators, the Hillview PTO provides support to efforts within this program by funding:

• Breakfast Café: An opportunity for students in the College Bound program to gather and enjoy a healthy morning snack, a positive connection to an adult before school begins, and a motivational thought to start each day. Students will be encouraged to take ownership of this time and space and volunteer to help set up and clean up periodically throughout the year. This is a great place to start the day off in the right growth mindset.

• Trimester Celebratory Breakfasts: To recognize the students in this program who achieve academic success with a 3.0 GPA or higher.

• Holiday Gift Cards: Provides gift cards for food and gift purchases that are distributed to Hillview families who need them so they can buy needed items for the winter holidays.
