Bay Area Chess

  • Bay Area Chess challenges students to open their minds to the fun and excitement of chess. Our professional coaches will teach new students the rules of the game, moves of the pieces, general strategy, piece values and much more. More advanced students will cover topics including tactics, endgames, square weaknesses and positional play. In addition, we strive to demonstrate chess as a valuable learning tool, where students will learn about learning from mistakes, planning, thinking ahead and sportsmanship; all tools that have practical use outside of the chessboard.
