The Oak Knoll website is a good source of school-specific information - the Back-to-School Checklist and Calendar are great places to start with to get ready for a new school year. For Menlo Park City School District information such as mission, strategic plan, curriculum, staff and so on, please visit the MPCSD website. For information on the Menlo Park Atherton Education Foundation, its mission, fundraising events and what it funds, please visit the MPAEF website. Parents will receive regular communication by email from Oak Knoll, the MPCSD Superintendent, and the MPAEF.
Regular informational meetings and education events for parents on various topics of interest are held throughout the year. Keep an eye out for specific events, highlighted in the weekly newsletter.
Parent Coffee Talks
Mrs. Gracia and other members of the Oak Knoll Staff hold regular informational meetings for parents on various topics of interest throughout the year. For the 2016-2017 school year, the Parent Coffee Talks will be held on November 1, February 7, April 25, and May 16. All meetings are right after the drop-off in the Gym, from 8:15-9:15 am.
KNOL is broadcast from the Oak Knoll library to each classroom first thing every morning Monday through Friday during the school year, on Comcast Channel 30. Students hear from other students about what is going on in school that day.- For AT&T U-verse subscribers, you can go to Channel 99 and look for the channel options.- For those without cable, you can go to the website, click on the watch other streams or under the local TV pull-down menu, click watch now. Then choose Channel 30. Here is a link directly to the watch now page.
Each year a Menlo Park City School District directory (paper to date) is compiled and published for families during the early/mid Fall. Each family will receive one copy.
In an effort to go paperless and save costs, paper flyers are not distributed to every student each week. The PTO encourages electronic flyers and announcements which can be linked to the newsletter or posted on the Oak Knoll website. The general rule is that it must be a form that needs to filled out and returned to school (e.g. Noteworthy Art). Any paper flyers are subject to approval by the PTO.
