FAQ: Moving/Address Change
Moving or Changing Addresses?
Moving can be a hectic time for families, and the Menlo Park City School District is here to help make your transition as smooth as possible.
To ensure your student’s school records stay accurate, you are required to notify the district of your new address on or before your move date. Please follow the two steps below to update your information and keep your student’s enrollment active.
1. Verify Your New Address
Students must reside within the district boundaries to attend MPCSD schools. Before finalizing your move, please use our School Locator tool to verify that your new home is within our attendance boundaries.
- Moving outside the district? You will need to register your student(s) in your new local school district. Per district policy (AR 5111.1), moving out of the district or failing to provide proper notification of a move will forfeit your student's opportunity to remain in MPCSD schools.
2. Submit Your Required Residency Documents
To officially update your address, please provide the required residency documents below:
- Proof of residency in the form of: Current rental property contract or lease, escrow papers, current year property tax bill, property tax payment receipt, lease payment receipt or declaration of residency executed by the parent or legal guardian of the student
- Two utility bills from different companies such as: Utility service contract, statement/payment receipts, pay stubs, voter registration, or correspondence from a government agency
How to submit: Email your documents to registrar@mpcsd.org or drop off physical copies at the District Office (181 Encinal Avenue, Atherton).
