Fewer cars make campuses feel welcoming, safe and easy to approach on foot. When choosing how students commute to and from school, families should determine the best options in light of their children's age and experience.
MPCSD is happy to announce that neighborhood bus services will be returning for the 2021-22 school year with modifications. School bus drivers will follow all safety protocols including the use of facial coverings and hand hygiene.
In addition, bus drivers will do temperature checks of all students and will have hand sanitizer available for all students boarding the bus. Face coverings will be required to be worn by all bus riders. Weather permitting, bus windows will remain open for ventilation purposes. Each bus will be sanitized after each use.
All parents or guardians must complete the daily student health screening form on the ParentSquare app at home and answer “NO” to all health screening questions before leaving home to board their bus. If you answer “YES” to any of the questions, your child must remain at home and will not be allowed to board the bus until they are cleared by the school nurse. In addition, bus drivers will do temperature checks of all students. Parents must wait until their child passes the temperature check process. If your child has a high temperature they will be asked to return to their parent/guardian and will not be able to board the bus. Hand sanitizer will be available for all students boarding the bus. Face coverings will be required to be worn by all bus riders. Weather permitting, bus windows will remain open for ventilation purposes. Each bus will be sanitized after each use.
