KATRINA HAGG - MATH TEACHER
-
Hello HILLVIEW!! I am so excited to be here and cannot wait to start what I know will be a wonderful year!
Here’s a little bit about me: I was born in Mountain View and raised in San Jose, California. I went to public elementary and intermediate school and then to Saint Francis High School (go Lancers!) For college, I earned my undergraduate degree in Architectural Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
Following my college graduation, I spent a month in South Africa (mostly Kimberley) volunteering in a school and orphanage. It was then that I knew I wanted to interact more with kids. After seven years of working in the architecture, engineering and construction industry, I quit my job to fulfill the final requirement in my credential, student teaching. In 2013, I student taught Algebra I with Support and Algebra Readiness at Menlo-Atherton High School. I loved my experience there, but in my heart I really wanted to teach younger students. I was so pleased to start my teaching career at Hillview Middle School in 2014! I could not feel more proud to be a part of such an incredible and inspiring community!
Aside from my love of math, my main hobby outside of school is CrossFit and I try to go as often as I can. While I am not the female CrossFit Games Champion ;) the progress that I have made since starting in 2012 is measurable. That, along with the friends I have made along the way, keep me going and working hard at it every chance I get.
I look forward getting to know my students and their families! Please feel free to contact me any time either via email at khagg@mpcsd.org or please call my classroom 650.326.4341 ext. 2304.
