I am so excited to be here at Hillview working with students, parents, and teachers. The one thing I always tell myself and I truly believe is that I am honored that so many families share their lives and their kids with me.
I have been working in education for the last 26 years. Prior to coming to Menlo Park City School District, I started as a teacher's aid while I was going to college. After graduate school, I started as a school psychologist in Oakland and then in South San Francisco before I came to Menlo Park. I am starting my 14th year.
I like to say I have spent 52 years in the Menlo Park City School District. That's if you add up the years I have work here, the years my wife has worked here, and the years my kids have gone through school. I also like to say that I have been part of all 4 schools in the district. I have been married for 27-years and yes, my wife is Susan Arrington who teaches sience at Hillview. I have three kids who have all gone through the Menlo Park Schools. My oldest daughter Amanda is a nurse in Seattle, my son Connor goes to the University of Arizona, and my youngest daughter Haley is currently in 8th grade.
I got my undergraduate degree in Psychology from California State University Long Beach. While I was there, I played Division 1 Water Polo and swam for two years. I also met my wife Susan and got married while we were still in school. We moved back up to the Bay Area and I went to graduate school at California State University, Hayward (now Cal State East Bay). I graduated with a Masters in Clinical Child Psychology and School Psychology. I also have a certificate as a Registered Art Therapist.
I live in Menlo Park (Suburban Park) and have for the last 10-years. I love my neighborhood and all the kids. In my spare time, I love to work on my house, snow ski, and swim.
