JEFF MEAD - ENGLISH TEACHER
It is a pleasure to welcome you to my page! I am very excited to be teaching 7th & 8th grade English Language Arts on two academies this year here at Hillview! I teach seventh grade English to one section on Pipeline Academy, and four sections of eighth grade English on Pioneer Academy. Since the 15-16 school year is my second as a Hillview Hawk, I'm eager to provide you with some background information about me.
Originally, I am from Boston and attended Boston University for undergraduate and graduate school. My career began way back in the day at the Bigelow Middle School in Newton, MA. and continued at the Corte Madera School just down the road in Portola Valley. At both schools, I taught 8th grade English. In my spare time, I'm a big fan of books (especially Y.A.), dogs (I "only" have one), and motorcycles (I have two). I love exclamation points, the Oxford comma, voting, national parks, and good coffee.
If you're a parent, please please please feel free to call me Jeff! If you're a student, you may call me Meadman, a nickname I was given by a former student who is now a professor of physics (no thanks to me)! I'm always up for a parent conference, and the best way to reach me is via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Alternatively, you may leave me a voice mail at extension 2212.
The MPAEF (Menlo Park-Atherton Education Foundation) has just provided me with my second favorite motto which I will apply to both school and life, "Are you in?" However, my own personal credo is "I HAVE THE BEST JOB IN THE WORLD!"
