Danielle O'Brien, Associate Principal of Hillview Middle School

I am proud to serve as your Assistant Principal at Hillview. I support students around behavior and good decision making skills, attendance, and school community and climate. I work closely with ASB, Service Team, Site Council and Asset Team.
I attended UC Davis where I earned a BS in Managerial Economics. Then, I moved on to Humboldt State University for a BA in History and my teaching credential. I hold credentials in History, English, and Multiple Subjects. Upon graduation from Humboldt State, I taught in Eureka, CA for 9 years, predominantly at the middle school level. I recently received my MA in Educational Administration from San Francisco State University.
This is my seventh year at Hillview; my first three years, I taught 7th grade English, Social Studies and ASB Leadership. I am now in my fourth year as Assistant Principal and am loving every minute! I enjoy serving the community of students, families, and staff that make up this incredible school.
Outside of school, I love spending time with my family; my husband, also a teacher and school administrator, my 3 kids, and my 2 dogs. You can often find us waterskiing at Clear Lake or visiting friends and family in Humboldt County. If I find a minute alone, I love to read, run, and scuba dive (in tropical waters!).
I look forward to working with students and families as we experience middle school together. Please feel free to contact me at dobrien@mpcsd.org.
