Danielle O'Brien, Interim Principal of Hillview Middle School
I am proud to serve as your Interim Principal at Hillview. My goal this year is to create a middle school where all students, staff, and families feel valued, connected and inspired. In my first year as Interim Principal, I look forward to embracing new faces in our Hillview family and reconnecting with others. I am hopeful for the possibilities of this school year and I look forward to partnership with students, staff, families and the community.
I attended UC Davis where I earned a BS in Managerial Economics. Then, I moved on to Humboldt State University for a BA in History and my teaching credential. I hold credentials in History, English, and Multiple Subjects. Upon graduation from Humboldt State, I taught in Eureka, CA for 9 years, predominantly at the middle school level. In 2011, I started at Hillview teaching 7th grade English, Social Studies, and ASB Leadership. In 2014, I moved into administration at Hillview and earned my MA in Educational Administration from San Francisco State University in 2015. As an administrator at Hillview, I served four years as Assistant Principal, then four years as Associate Principal.
Outside of school, I love spending time with my family: my husband, also a teacher and school administrator, my 3 college age kids, and my dog. You can often find us waterskiing at Clear Lake, wandering through our San Francisco neighborhood, or scuba diving in tropical water. If I find a minute alone, I love to read, run, and knit.
I look forward to serving you as we create a middle school where all students, families, and staff feel valued, connected, and inspired.
